Amit Deshpande is a senior corporate professional with a proven record of accomplishment in secretarial, corporate legal, mergers and acquisitions, statutory compliances, and business legal, including arbitrations and litigations across geographies.  

He is a Seasoned Leader responsible for transforming the secretarial and legal function into a centre of excellence with strategic focus on creating a competitive edge and ensuring zero value destroyers. Amit has played an instrumental role in capital-raising for funding companies’ growth objectives via value unlocking initiatives and portfolio management through various structuring initiatives and driving inorganic opportunities. He is skilled in rendering strategic legal advisory on entry into new international markets, general business advisories, commercial transactions, joint collaborations, M&A, IPR, ethics and compliances. 

Amit has a demonstrated ability to build and shape the team into a highly motivated, agile, purpose driven, and future-ready unit.  

Prior to Sterlite, he worked with companies like Vishay Components (India), Kirloskar Oil Engines and Tata Auto Comp.  

He is graduate of Commerce and Law from Symbiosis and ILS Law Colleges, Pune, and an associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
