In July 2013 Marios Andrikopoulos joined ELPEDISON Power and ELPEDISON Energy as legal counsel, subsequent to which the two companies merged in 2015 and formed ELPEDISON, and the company became a vertically oriented company active in both power generation and electricity power supply.

This was the first vertical merger in the Greek energy market, and as a legal professional within this organisation Andrikopoulos has been called to face projects which required an interdisciplinary and horizontal cooperation between departments. As legal counsel he has managed to excel at this partly by inspiring confidence amongst employees of the company in the quality and accuracy of legal advice.

‘This has allowed the operational departments of the company to focus on their activity, being continuously supported and advised. A trust and respect relationship has been implemented in this respect’, says Andrikopoulos. Due to ELPEDISON’s nature, as a private company and private supplier and natural gas producer, active within heavily regulated markets and undergoing a liberalisation process, the legal counsel of the company has to prove and maintain strong skills in private, corporate and public law – with corresponding skills in advisory practice as well as litigation. He has managed to efficiently respond to the aforementioned requirement in the energy law practice; ‘I have acquired strong experience and expertise in the electricity power production, electricity power supply, electricity trading, and natural gas wholesale and retail sale market’, says Andrikopoulos.
