Zinhle Mariani is a C-suite corporate governance and legal practitioner with over 22 years of professional expertise in organisation-wide strategy execution, legal, compliance, governance, and senior stakeholder relationship management for major local and multinational corporations. Zinhle currently serves as the general counsel for Africa at Experian Africa and is a member of the executive committee.

Zinhle is a certified director with the IoDSA and a member of the NBI Board, a non-profit organisation. Zinhle serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director, where she also Chairs the Social, Ethics, and Transformation Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee.

She possesses a broad foundation of exposure to the financial services sector, along with an extensive mix of experience across entertainment law, corporate and insurance law, data protection office, company secretariat duties, corporate governance, and stakeholder and regulatory business leadership.

In multiple roles to date, Zinhle has served as strategic counsel and tactical support to CEOs, executive management, and boards. This has enabled her to develop well-rounded skill sets in reputational and compliance risk management, legal and regulatory affairs, public policy direction, business and ethical leadership counsel, and thought leadership on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) non-financial best practices. She has an immediate passion for ESG and understanding how both individuals and corporations can positively contribute to alleviate the pressures and timeline regarding the global climate crisis.

Zinhle is passionate about working, supporting, and developing the youth. She is an active social citizen who mentors and coaches young talent in the business to fast-track their progress and corporate value addition. She was fortunate to take up an opportunity to formalise this passion through formal training and development, obtaining a certificate with the Consciousness Coaching Institute, a globally certified coaching programme.
