Spotlight on… 

Marjolijne Droogleever Fortuyn graduated in law from the University of Utrecht.
She obtained a post graduate degree in law from the University of Cambridge (UK) and more recently successfully completed the International Directors Program at INSEAD.  

Marjolijne worked as an attorney in The Hague (NL) and Brussels (BE) specialising in corporate, banking and EU law, before she came to Luxembourg where she has been working in the financial sector since 1992.  

Amongst others, she was head of legal and human resources of ABN AMRO Bank Luxembourg. 

As from 1 November 2019, she has been head of legal affairs of BNP Paribas, Luxembourg branch, specialising in asset and fund services for institutional investors and corporates, fund managers, pension funds and insurance companies. She leads a team of 12 lawyers.  

Marjolijne is also a board member of the Luxembourg Directors Institute (ILA) and member of ILAs Nomination & Remuneration Committee.  

Marjolijne has the Dutch and Luxembourgish nationality and speaks fluently Dutch, English, French and Luxembourgish.
