How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

The legal support is instrumental to the business growth. We focus on providing the most efficient, fast and risk-informed solution counselling to our business team.  This is done through lean contract and the sprint-drafting process, an agile template and contract review process allowing for fitting commercial terms across various jurisdictions, and the use of most trustworthy generative AI application. We also focus on team development and growth to ensure we stay on top of new regulations and work cross functionally to review compliance requirements.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

Generative AI and LLM are already under controlled adoption in our legal team. I believe there will be more applications for discreet use cases, which will help optimise and improve transactional and corporate documentation which is a large part of the legal work. We also developed our own in-house contract management processes, using a combination of commercially available tools which easily adapt to our team needs. We work closely with our IT department to stay on top of the new technology and assess usability and risks.

How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment?

Our team is small but dispersed across Europe. We use remote work and online tools to ensure we collaborate synergistically, no matter what individual situation we find ourselves. We share a lot! We often play four or even six hands on the same project, using same-time collaboration tools. It gives everyone visibility and the feeling of being in the same room, and everyone can contribute and learn. We break and repair together, standing for one another. We encourage participation and check workload distribution to ensure we step-in timely, redistribute work-life pressure, and avoid stress.
