We are currently engaged in long-term projects aimed at assisting our clients in achieving their clean energy and decarbonisation objectives, while also increasing their profitability through our smart solutions and high-quality products and services. These initiatives not only inspire us but also provide valuable opportunities to expand our expertise in emerging concepts within clean energy and decarbonisation. Additionally, we actively participate in assessing and mitigating potential risks associated with new business models, which continually motivates our team.

What strategic priorities are guiding you and your team in 2024?

In 2024, our legal team is guided by a strategic framework that covers a multitude of critical areas, all aimed at driving legal excellence and supporting sustainable business growth. Aligned with our Group’s strategic plan, which places sustainable development at its core, we are committed to supporting Air Liquide towards comprehensive performance, blending financial success with extra-financial achievements.

Like every year, one of our primary strategic priorities is ensuring legal compliance and risk management across all aspects of our operations. This requires close follow-up of evolving regulations, both domestically and internationally, and proactively addressing any legal and business challenges that may arise. By promoting a culture of compliance within our organisation, we aim to mitigate risks effectively while upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethics.

Additionally, throughout the year, we will consider leveraging innovation and technology to enhance efficiency and streamline processes within our department as much as possible. This approach will enable us to optimise resource allocation, improve decision-making, and deliver greater value to our internal stakeholders.

Furthermore, the importance of building strategic partnerships and collaboration both internally and externally should not be denied. By working closely with other departments within the organisation and collaborating with external partners, as necessary, we aim to better align our legal efforts with broader business objectives and drive sustainable growth.

Lastly, our strategic priorities also cover talent development initiatives within our legal team. As a legal and ethics director, my passion lies in promoting ethical conduct, fostering a culture of compliance, leadership integrity, and ongoing improvement within organisations, particularly related to the prevention of corruption and human rights violations.

I strongly believe that maintaining the highest standards in business ethics is not only morally necessary but also essential for long-term success and sustainability. A strong ethical framework with the right compliance programs can mitigate risks and build trust with internal and external stakeholders, among many other benefits it can bring to corporations and the public. I am committed to leveraging my role to contribute meaningfully to the betterment of society.

My passion for ethical conduct and integrity serves as a guiding principle in all aspects of my professional efforts.
