What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

Compliance in the healthcare sector is of paramount importance, due to several key reasons. Healthcare organisations are subject to laws and regulations at the local, national and international levels which cover various aspects of healthcare operations. Recently, I have been involved in compliance investigations conducted on a global level.

What strategic priorities are guiding you and your team in 2024?

Compliance and regulatory changes: I will focus on ensuring that my organisation adheres to laws and other data privacy regulations, as well as complies with healthcare reimbursement policies.

Healthcare consolidation and antitrust compliance: I will advise on mergers and acquisitions antitrust compliance, and competition law considerations to maintain a competitive and fair marketplace.

Medical liability and risk management: I will work on mitigating medical liability risks, including malpractice claims, providing training within the company and ensuring compliance with quality improvement initiatives.

There is immense value in mentoring and guiding the next generation of legal professionals – lessons learned, and practical advice gleaned from my own journey. I believe in the importance of mentorship, not only in shaping successful legal careers, but also in fostering a supportive legal community, where individuals can learn from each other’s experiences and grow together.
