What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in? 

Working for Turkey’s pioneering technology company is as fascinating as challenging. SabancıDx offers solutions in cybersecurity, technology services and digital transformation products.The main business of the company revolves around digitalisation, which keeps the legal team heavily involved in technology. In addition, there are many impressive projects along with daily transactions that add value to attorneys. 

As a legal team, we are responsible for providing legal consultancy and support to teams across the company. We are also involved in the drafting various corporate documents and developing creative solutions for compliance issues. M&A projects and IT-related business projects are enjoyable operations that I feel very lucky to take part in. 

On the other hand, drafting and archiving contracts is an important part of our daily transactions. We are deeply involved in drafting, reviewing and negotiating various types of contracts. Drafting clear and effective commercial contract templates are very important to us. 

Being part of the legal team in this type of organisation holds a critical position in all business decisions. Each member of the team plays an important role during the decision-making process. Making reasonable and effective decisions help improve the business and experiencing positive impacts of that is really proud. 

 

Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?  

As we all know, compliance issues can be quite complicated to follow up on. Even though legal issues are more visible, compliance issues are also crucial and worth considering. We realised that creating a user-friendly template helps save time and reduce the workload. After implementing this, which brings practicality to the follow-up processes, we successfully listed and archived them. We plan to ensure time management by automating the process of checking the compliance plan in the annual calendar. Seeing the impacts of this makes all of us very delighted. 

 

What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?  

From my perspective, there are many important values in business life, but the most significant one is diversity in the workplace. It seems to me that this value plays a key role in accessing more talent, as well as enhancing productivity and creativity. In a diversified workplace, employees are more likely to stay in their current positions, and the turnover rate will be lower. It is also critical for each team of the organisation since it leads to better collaboration and communication. As far as I’m concerned, supporting diversity in the workplace helps companies to boost their reputation and retain talents. Working in a place where employees have different ages, genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds, and education levels is always my priority.
