Working in a fast-paced environment, the lawyers in Ireland are actively involved in supporting the advisory, strategic and transactional needs of the business across the EMEA region and, in many cases, globally. They are known for putting forward innovative solutions to complex legal issues, and given the scale of Google, there is a huge emphasis on knowledge-sharing and horizon-scanning. The continued development of technology-savvy lawyers has been and remains critical to Google’s continued success.

Google’s legal teams are often dealing with new areas. Many of the issues we face are unprecedented, unique and complex, as innovation is at the heart of what we do at Google. We work very closely with our business partners, ensuring we understand the technology, the service and the user-experience, in order to provide practical, timely and solution-focused advice.

The highly regulated Irish and European markets have encouraged the legal team to develop and nurture partnerships within the business. Legal partners with the business on significant regulatory changes and developments, including content, privacy and data disclosure; innovative product launches, including AI; litigation and real estate matters.

Working closely and collaboratively with our policy, strategy, compliance and product teams ensures we are laterally integrated into the business, involved early and truly able to provide informed, proactive and effective legal solutions.
