First, can you please give us an idea of the sort of work your team has done recently?  

Allianz Austria’s legal team performs work in various legal areas covering insurance law, insurance supervisory law, civil law and corporate law. We are principally responsible for and oversee all corporate legal issues. Further, we provide board support, and we support general meetings and supervisory board meetings. Also, we provide legal consultation and support for all operating departments.  

How does your legal strategy change during periods of instability or uncertainty?   

Solid legal advice requires a calm and steady hand. This is even more true in periods of instability or uncertainty. A basic characteristic of superb legal advice is to convey security and calmness to management and to the company. Therefore, legal strategy does not change in periods of instability or uncertainty, on the contrary, its main characteristics become even more important and more visible.  

Do you make use of any ‘legal tech’ products, and if so, for which areas of your job do you find it most useful?    

We use legal tech’ products insofar as they are built into legal databases. We expect that particularly in the area of legal research legal tech’ products will play a major role going forward.
