First, can you please give us an idea of the sort of work your team has done recently?  

We completed seven M&A transactions. The team was also involved in the completion of a massive programme to reduce the number of legal entities and legal and operaional complexity. We reduced the number of litigation cases across the globe. Furthermore, we negotiated long-term agreements with key suppliers and key customers. 

How does your legal strategy change during periods of instability or uncertainty?   

There is no isolated legal strategy. The legal strategy follows the company strategy and its short-term goals. In case of instability or uncertainty the legal resources will be allocated to the areas the company wishes to prioritise. 

Do you make use of any ‘legal tech’ products, and if so, for which areas of your job do you find it most useful?   

We use some tools offered by external counsel. In addition, we have created a legal chat bot for the organisation.
