What are the most significant cases or transactions that you have recently been involved in over the past year? 

Our Legal, External Affairs & Governance (LEG) team has been busy over the past year. Among other transactions, in our distribution business, we signed a new agreement with Priceline, part of Booking Holdings, to enable access to content from many of the world’s leading airlines through our platform In our airline IT business, we implemented Etihad Airways, ITA Airways (Italy), Hawaiian Airlines, Allegiant Air (US) and Air India on our passenger service system. On the hospitality side we expanded our partnership with Trip.com. Additionally, in payments, our subsidiary Outpayce secured an e-money license from the Bank of Spain to allow it to provide regulated payment services. Finally, regarding M&A, we acquired Vision-Box, a leading biometrics provider, as well as Voxel, a travel payments company. 

What are the key things to consider to manage your legal team well? 

Diverse Leadership Dynamics: My leadership team is majority female, so we’re fortunate to be able to leverage the unique perspectives and strengths that come from gender balance. 

Global Collaboration and Communication: My leadership reports are spread across various locations: Madrid, Nice, Munich, Tel Aviv, Abu Dhabi, Miami, and Bangkok, so effective communication across time zones and cultures is crucial. 

ESG Integration into LEG Strategy: As the executive sponsor of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives, I do my best to ensure that our team aligns its strategies and practices with Amadeus’ goals by integrating sustainability considerations into decision-making processes and fostering a culture of responsibility and corporate citizenship within the team and across the organisation.
