GE has had a major presence in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT) region for over 80 years, now covering 19 countries and employing approximately 9,200 people. In North Africa, the company’s activities include advanced power generation technology in Egypt, water services in Algeria, healthcare services in Egypt and locomotives in Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia.
Lynda Ait Kaci serves as the company’s main legal advisor and business partner in North Africa, providing legal and compliance insight and strategic advice to all business and corporate teams in the region. Having served as an executive counsel for North Africa for the last six-and-a-half years, Ait Kaci was recently promoted to the position of regional general counsel.
Areas of excellence, as outlined by sources, include Ait Kaci’s tactical advice on complex commercial matters and transactions, as well as her understanding and advice on labour, regulatory, privacy and antitrust work. Ait Kaci formerly served as a legal director for the Algerian business at Lafarge, as well as head of legal at British American Tobacco Algeria.
