Ethics expert Olivier Decotter joined IBL, the largest business group in Mauritius, in July 2010 as legal and ethics executive, focusing on the company’s everyday legal and ethics operations in the industries of commercial, building and engineering, manufacturing and processing, hospitality, financial and other services.

In 2016 he was promoted to group chief legal and ethics officer and the following year he assumed his current position as head of legal and corporate affairs and ethics officer. Decotter brings his previous career experience to his current role; a career that began in January 2006 at Investment Professionals, a leading Mauritius based asset management company, where he held the position of legal and compliance officer as well as acting as a money laundering reporting officer.

Showing his dedication to a number of ethics institutes, Decotter is also a certified ethics officer from the ethics Institute of South Africa, he is a member of the boards of directors of Alentaris and City Brokers Ltd. Decotter has also been the vice chairman and independent non-executive director for Mauritius Institute of directors, a professional training and coaching company, helping aspiring directors as well as business leaders and young professionals providing a forum to learn, share and develop in the areas of international best practise while upholding the highest ethical and professional conduct.
