The Coca-Cola Company is the world’s largest beverage group with over 500 brands and 3,900 beverage varieties. Africa, as part of the Europe, Middle East and Africa division makes up 29% of the company’s annual revenue, its largest geographical share. Coca-Cola operates two business units in Africa, Southern and East Africa and West Africa, with Northern areas part of its Middle East sector. Mpumi Mazibuko, legal counsel director, leads the South Africa based legal team for the Southern and East Africa business unit, a top level in-house legal department expertly handling the diverse jurisdictions within its remit. The team is well regarded across the sector for its skill in legal management of the sector’s many jurisdictions and its integrity in compliance, corporate governance and internal controls program implementation.
