History was made at Kenya Airways in October 2018 when it began the first direct flights from Kenya to the US, cutting off a significant portion of a flight which previously required time-consuming stopovers in Europe or the Middle East. Kenya Airways’ legal team has been instrumental to every part of overseeing this process, including negotiating landing rights and purchasing the equipment needed to operate the route – including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft that fly it. Teodosia Osir is general counsel and head of corporate affairs at the company and is among the most highly regarded in-house counsel in Africa having achieved excellent results both at Kenya Airways and during a highly successful tenure with Qatar Airways.
