The Royal Air Maroc legal team has had a hand in all of Royal Air Maroc (RAM)’s success in recent months, displaying time and again its expertise in some highly complex projects. September 2018 saw the airline announce a major new direct route between Casablanca and Miami to become operational in March 2019 which will mark the latter’s first route to Africa for many years and the state of Florida’s only non-stop service to the continent. This is a major coup for Morocco’s national airline and will have a knock-on effect for tourism in the country while directly showcasing it to a wider US audience, and comes as part of a general route expansion by the company which has also seen it take on new routes to the Jordan, Nigeria and Austria. A further statement of intent comes with the company’s November 2017 announcement of a US$1.1bn deal to acquire four stretched -900 versions of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which will provide significant new capacity on long-haul routes.
