Vodacom is a household name in the telecoms industry across Sub-Saharan Africa, and is a leading African communications company operating in South Africa, Lesotho, Mozambique, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya. Based in South Africa, Vodacom offers mobile voice, internet, messaging, data and telecommunication services and finance to over 103 million customers including its subsidiary Safaricom. Vodacom is majority-owned by international communications giant Vodafone. The in-house legal team is led by Nkateko Nyoka, chief officer legal and regulatory, and is highly experienced in the telecoms industry and adept at its commercial as well as regulatory aspects and corporate governance. Reaching over 284 million people, Vodacom has one of the largest networks in Africa, and has recently announced the roll-out of its new 5G Commercial service in Lesotho. Additionally, it has launched new enhanced voice service “Super HD Voice” and a number of other new products and initiatives.
