Applauded for his wealth of experience in large multinational corporations and top-tier law firms, along with his ‘keen sense of commercial awareness, pragmatic approach to problem solving and strong leadership ability’, Hernán Dayen currently serves as a sub-regional general counsel at the global utilities business Air Liquide. In this role, Dayen is responsible for all legal affairs in several key areas for the company including business development, corporate strategy and compliance among others, and oversees all operational legal matters ranging from drafting and negotiations of contracts to litigation, arbitration and mediation. Dayen also serves as secretary to the board of directors and represents Air Liquide International at the shareholder meetings of its South American subsidiaries. With a cumulative project value of negotiated and closed projects over his career of $25bn, Dayen’s previous roles include, director of legal and government affairs for Latin America at Dell, senior legal counsel at YPF in Argentina, member of the nominating committee at Alliance Oil Company in Moscow and head of legal for the Middle East, West Africa and Asia at Repsol’s Madrid office.
