In his role of general counsel at IMPSA, one of Argentina’s largest metallurgic companies, Hernán Iglesias deals with local and regional issues on a daily basis. Praised for his in depth knowledge of domestic law, as well as for his ability to deal with challenges that arise from the business environment in the country, Iglesias has worked through the many economic and political changes in Argentina over the past 20 years, developing a practical and pragmatic approach to the practice. Described as a ‘knowledgeable and focused’ lawyer, Iglesias is highly valued by his business for his ability to draft privacy policies, structure commercial transactions and provide advice to new businesses on the formation of appropriate structures. Before assuming the general counsel role at IMPSA in 2011, Iglesias worked as legal manager at the company and before that he was employed at Compañia de Seguros La Mercantil Andina and the Argentinian Supreme Court.
