As legal affairs director for Argentina and senior counsel for Latin America, Mariana Oteiza heads a large legal team that supports the affairs of Turner Broadcasting Systems, a group of companies that produces and distributes basic television networks across the Latin American region. A highly ambitious, creative and proactive lawyer with a proven ability to solve problems both creatively and analytically, Oteiza provides advice on various issues facing the company, related to negotiation, production, human resources, marketing and ethics among others. Apart from achievements in shaping the compliance policy of her company and introducing comprehensive training initiatives, Oteiza’s eight year tenure at Turner is marked by shaping a flexible legal team that has received praise for its efficiency in analysing, negotiating, drafting and reviewing all supplier contracts in Argentina. Prior to moving to the media sector, Oteiza worked in private practice at the Buenos Aires based law firms Brons & Salas and Pérez Alati, Grondona, Benites, Arntsen & Martinez de Hoz(h) (PAGBAM).
