In December 2015 Mercedes Rodriguez Canedo was appointed as vice president legal for the South Latin business unit within The Coca-Cola Company’s Global Legal Function, in addition to holding a position as the local ethics officer. With over 16 years of experience within The Coca-Cola Company in Buenos Aires, Rodriguez has a deep knowledge of the inner workings of the company and the legal affairs it encounters across Latin America. The Coca-Cola Company has a long history in Argentina having had a presence there for over 74 years, and is currently investing $1bn into four bottling plants in the market. In addition to her organisational skills and flexibility, she is known for her ability to tackle issues related to IP, trademarks, licencing and contract negotiation.
