Having been an in-house lawyer at Unilever since 1995, Paula Morrone has over two decades of experience in a variety of roles at the global consumer goods company culminating in her promotion to legal director of the Southern Cone region in November 2016. Tremendously well-regarded in the industry, Morrone holds legal qualifications including postgraduate degrees in business law and law and economics. Her work will be increasingly important to the consumer giant, with a recent trend in Unilever subsidiaries across the world having to deal with market-specific circumstances that are presenting volatile and uncertain consumer trends. In Argentina specifically, efforts to offset the difficulties the country’s hyperinflation is having on the consumer goods market will require input from Morrone and the rest of the legal function to ensure any solutions and new activities are conducted in a legally compliant and sustainable way.
