A brilliant lawyer with strong skills in intellectual property and contract negotiation, Santiago Ojea Quintana has been the general counsel of Holcim Argentina since July 2014. Known as a ‘proactive and responsible’ lawyer, Ojea has received credit for his level of professionalism and personal ethics. His short tenure at Holcim, a global building materials and aggregates company, is characterised by vast improvements to the legal team’s work culture, as well as a closer cooperation between legal and the rest of the business. Prior to joining Holcim, Ojea was a compliance manager at GlaxoSmithKline’s office in Buenos Aires covering Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia. Prior to that, Ojea worked in-house at Techint and in private practice at King & Spalding.
