Founded in 1924, Telefónica is a Spanish multinational telecommunications company headquartered in Madrid, Spain. It is one of the largest telephone operators and mobile network providers in the world.

Telefónica has been present in Argentina since the privatisation of telephone services in 1990. During its years of management, Telefónica Argentina has established itself as a leading company specialising in integrated telecommunications, managing more than 25 million accesses as of December 2017. In the fourth quarter of 2017, Telefónica’s revenue in Argentina reached approximately €3.5bn.

Specialising in business and telecommunications law, with extensive experience in telecommunications regulation, Agustina Hernandez is the head of legal affairs at the Telefónica group, leading the telecommunications law and competition department and providing valuable legal advice regarding various activities of the company. She joined Telefónica Argentina in 2003 at the beginning of her legal career. After an international assignment in Spain and several key promotions, Hernandez was appointed as head of legal affairs of Telefónica group in 2017.
