About

Serving as general counsel at Perez Companc Family Group (PCFG), Mariano Mazur gives comprehensive legal advice to different domestic and international companies of the organisation as well as the individual members of the Perez Companc Family in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, US and off-shore jurisdictions. He is responsible for drafting and negotiating different types of agreements, structuring and implementing legal schemes and the coordination of multi-jurisdictional legal counsels in cross-border transactions. Since 2009, Mazur has successfully developed his role as general counsel, creating strong and trusted relationships with PCFG’s shareholders, management team, and legal department members. He has also set up a ‘working agenda’ which allows the PCFG holding and its operative companies to communicate more effectively and understand the relevant strategic matters better. Mazur has provided his employer with indispensable advice on corporate transactions. In 2015, he was involved in the acquisition of Pecom Servicios Energía (formerly known as Skanska Argentina), helping PCFG re-enter the energy sector. More recent acquisitions of Tel3 (a leading company in the construction of powerlines and grid systems) and Bolland (a leading company in the provision of different services for the oil and gas industries) have expanded the company’s business into other energy sectors. Recently, Mazur and his team have handled a complex spin-off of Molinos Río de la Plata’s soybean crushing and exportation business and the setup of a newly listed company, Molinos Agro. In addition, he has built up and overseen a dedicated team to deal with complex tax litigation matters. He’s also been focusing on the amendment of the corporate governance agreements of PCFG, allowing ‘the company’s shareholders to enter into a new phase of governance relationship with our holding company’, he explains. Before joining PCFG, Mazur worked at Bruchou, Fernández Madero & Lombardi’s corporate team as a senior associate for seven years, where ‘he gave advice to local and foreign clients on day-to-day business, M&A transactions in Argentina, and cross-border deals, regulatory matters, wealth preservation and management schemes, as well as financial and credit agreements’, he says.
