Nicolás Noro Villagra has built a reputation as an experienced legal director with a demonstrated history of advising senior executives in a number of multinational companies. In his current role as legal director for multinational drink and brewing holdings company AB InBev, he is responsible for all legal and compliance matters in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, managing a team of ten lawyers. Described by a nominator as a ‘capable leader’, Villagra has impressed peers with his excellent leadership skills and management techniques: ‘He has built a very strong team of attorneys and leads them in a very effective and smooth manner’ the nominator adds. Villagra is also a member of the ethics and compliance committee and is responsible for coordinating the implementation of various compliance programs throughout the organisation. In his coordination of outside counsels on a wide variety of issues including tax, criminal and employment law cases, his peers have said he demonstrates ‘clear ideas and expedites communication, [he] is an outstanding professional to work with’. Villagra has been involved in the legal clearance by the Antitrust Agency in Argentina (CNDC) of the global acquisition of SAB Miller which included a brand divesture agreement with, multi-category beverage company, CCU, valued at over $300m. He was also notably involved in the negotiation of a joint venture with Nestlé Waters for the production, distribution and commercialisation of Eco de los Andes, Nestlé and Glacier waters in Argentina and the acquisition of the Awafrut Brand. Prior to this role he worked for Microsoft Corporation as the legal director Latin America – Consumer and Mobile Devices Group where he was the regional legal director responsible for providing legal support to the consumer, mobile devices, advertising, apps and media publishing groups in Latin America.
