What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
Dealing with different restrictions in Argentina, which have impacted imports and prices. We have also been involved in litigations, due to new regulations affecting business, negotiation with unions, implementation of competition, and antitrust programs, to name a few.
What will be the main focus for the company in the next 12 months and how do you intend to assist with this?
Turn round of the business in Latin America. From a legal perspective we are assisting the business for the turnaround from different perspectives, negotiations with key stakeholders, negotiations with unions, launching of new products, restructure of some areas, marketing campaigns, e-commerce, and closing some big lawsuits.
What do you feel is the best way to get more women into in-house legal leadership positions?
Companies should increase the development of a culture supportive of women and diversity, implementing policies that help promote parity, such as flextime, telecommuting, maternity leave, and return-to-work programs that help to ensure that women are not disadvantaged at work because of their domestic responsibilities. Additionally, stimulate career plans, invest in mentoring, encourage open discussions on diversity and inclusion issues.
From the human resources area, some actions can also be implemented to promote diversity and inclusion. I also believe that participating in networks of women is very important and generates a lot of value and opportunities.
