What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

One of the most significant cases we have been involved in recently, has been a cross-border acquisition and restructuring transaction. In its realisation, we have worked closely with legal teams in the US, Canada and British Virgin Islands, in order to deliver a solution for acquisition and restructuring transactions pursuant to a Chapter 11 Plan.

Which recent political, economic or regulatory changes have impacted the company and the team the most?

Our team and company have primarily been impacted by the foreign exchange control restrictions in Argentina and the international political situation, such as the Ukraine-Russia war. Additionally, the rise in prices has brought several challenges to ensuring the safety of our operations and the quality of our services.

If you had to give advice to an aspiring in-house lawyer or general counsel, what would it be and why?

Every in-house lawyer should be considered an integral part of the business. They must accompany and guide the business partners, providing valuable advice to let the company achieve its objectives. Additionally, in-house lawyers have the crucial role of ensuring the overall environment is in line with best practices and compliance.
