What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

The legal department has been dealing with multiple International Arbitrations procedures recently.

Another important issue we have been involved in is the oil and gas exploration and production business. For several months we have been negotiating the investment plan included in the concession of unconventional gas for the Sierra Chata block — located in the province of Neuquén. Several hundreds of millions in investment were at stake. After tough negotiations, we reached a successful agreement with the province that allows us for the continuity of activities in the concession.

We have also been working on expanding one of our wind farms in Buenos Aires. As a province that will almost triple the existing gross capacity of 53.2 MW, with an estimated investment of US$128 m. Its output will be sold through a PPA with private parties. The legal team has been responsible for the negotiations of the EPC contract and the obtention of all permits required. The next challenge will be to negotiate with our commercial team, the PPAs for the increased capacity of the wind farm.

What will be the main focus for the company in the next 12 months and how do you intend to assist with this?

Pampa will focus on developing its concessions areas in Vaca Muerta, located in the Neuquén basin, one of the world’s greatest players in non-conventional gas. This challenge will require not only great resources in CAPEX and OPEX; but also, a lot of work in drafting contracts, filing for permits and negotiating with many suppliers and contractors to accomplish the investment plan on time. We will also help the commercial team negotiate the sales gas agreements and accomplish all regulations to do that and export the hydrocarbon.

How much influence do you, as a general counsel, have on the diversity and inclusion policies of your organisation?

Fortunately, Pampa has a wide-open policy of diversity and inclusions, and the RRHH is the area in charge of promoting compliance with the policy.
