Gonzalo Videla joined MSD in 2013, as legal and compliance director for the Southern Cone in LatAm region, supporting human health operations in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia.

In 2019, he was promoted to his current role as executive director and legal lead for the animal health operations in LatAm, including Brazil.

Currently, reports to the global AH legal vice president, and leads a talented team including three direct reports that support Brazil, Mexico and Central America and South & Andean Cone, respectively.

Gonzalo emphasises the importance of the legal function in the organisation and its priorities, aimed at helping clients in a wide range of business initiatives, managing risk with an innovative and problem-solving mindset and ensuring productivity maximisation to provide optimal value in routine and strategic business interactions.

Since he took the role, Gonzalo and his team implemented a legal operating model for the standardisation of regular processes and practices on matters such as corporate, contracts, litigation, trade channels and legal department management, which allowed the area to work more rapidly and efficiently and support internal clients with a strategic approach. In the last years, he actively participated in a variety of complex business projects and transactions with global scope and direct impact to the business in the region.

He is also an active member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee in LatAm, with special focus in the Capability Network EBRG, an inclusive network that collaborates with the Global Diversity and Inclusion department and offers a forum to colleagues with disabilities to support their professional development.

Gonzalo has more than 15 years of experience in different in-house roles and prior to joining MSD, he worked for Walmart and top-ranked law firms in Argentina.
