What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

We can highlight that our legal team has recently participated in a corporate reorganisation process and in the negotiation of license agreements for the acquisition of new products for the company’s pipeline.

To carry out these transactions the main objective was to work with all departments of the company. In the case of the negotiations of the license agreement, there were additional challenges linked to complex negotiations for the commercialisation of biotech products. In these cases, interdisciplinary support is essential.

Which recent political, economic or regulatory changes have impacted the company and the team the most?

Biosidus is a company with more than four decades of expertise in the manufacture and distribution of high-quality biosimilar products in emerging market countries. During the pandemic, Biosidus had big challenges to continue supplying its products in an international context of total uncertainty.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, Biosidus as an export company that elaborates its products in Argentina, the main impact results from the exchange regulations that are updated each week by the central bank of Argentina. These constant regulatory changes generate new challenges all the time and require a great capacity for adaptation.

If you had to give advice to an aspiring in-house lawyer or general counsel, what would it be and why?

In our role as in-house lawyers, it is very important to work in an interdisciplinary way. Also, it is essential to understand the business and the regulations that impact it in order to carry it out. The other departments of the company must see us as strategic and necessary partners.
