Aluar is a major aluminium smelting plant, one of the largest in South America and the only one in operation in Argentina. It is thus of immense importance from political, infrastructural and commercial perspectives of the country. As such, its in-house legal team is required to deal with a multitude of competing pressures and challenges as a matter of course.

Alberto Eduardo Martínez Costa, the founder of the company’s legal department, is well-regarded for his ethical and highly capable approach to his responsibilities, qualities that he has passed on to his team. Recently, the team has had a major role in the diversification of the company’s portfolio to include wind power plants, of which it opened a major, 200MW installation in mid-2017.
