Since the 1980s, multinational energy corporation Chevron has been producing crude oil and natural gas in Argentina through its wholly owned subsidiary Chevron Argentina, and today is amongst the top ten largest energy producers in the country. Heading the in-house legal function of this domestic branch is legal manager Fabiana Fonseca who initially joined in 2004, before being promoted to her current position 10 years later.
With approximately 14 years of experience at the company, Chevron can place great trust in her abilities in leading the local function. One in-house lawyer supporting Fonseca in the legal team and highlighted in this year’s research is Mariana Caticha, who has been with the organisation since 2010. In 2018, the legal team assisted Chevron Argentina on its partnership agreement with Argentina’s state-owned oil company YPF, as a response to a forecasted boom in Argentine shale gas market.
