Sun Microsystems was integrated into the Oracle business after the multinational computer technology company’s acquisition in 2010. This complex merger of two leading technology companies required a tremendous amount of work from all the legal departments working on the dea;. After the completion of this transaction, the legal director of the Sun Microsystems’ Latin America division Lucio Fabani Larrañaga assumed his current role as senior legal director for Latin America at Oracle in June 2010.

Today he leads the team of three in-house lawyers supporting the Southern Cone cluster which includes Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Bolivia. Amongst its members are senior legal counsel Andres Molinario who stands out for his focus in commercial transactions and corporate law and in-house lawyer Julio Valdivia, a new addition focused on commercial transactions, antitrust and privacy. Adapting to the Oracle business transformation into one of the major cloud services providers, has been one of the most integral changes to the department. The team has skilfully managed to stay abreast of challenges of new regulations such as privacy, competition and distribution and helping support internal customers so that Oracle may contribute with improving end user needs through innovation and technology.
