In her early role with OneDigital, Erica served in a leadership capacity to help the compliance team support over 50,000 clients. Now, as senior vice president, legal and compliance, she leads a team of 40 internal attorneys, outside counsel, and risk and licensing professionals to anticipate and mitigate corporate legal risks as the head of OneDigital legal, risk, and licensing departments, providing leadership and strategic business guidance at the executive and board level.

At OneDigital, Erica has made substantial contributions to build out its legal and risk team, compliance team, and client solutions, as well as mitigate risk to the organization, including, but not limited to building the in-house legal and risk team from the ground up. She also contributed to increasing its size from two to 40 professionals in three years, and instituted operational changes resulting in $500,000+ in savings per year.

She absorbed and restructured the licensing department to implement operational efficiencies and technologies that have increased productivity by 75%. She implemented an enterprise risk management program and supporti technology to effectively monitor risks and promote the visibility of key risks to the executive team and board members.

Among Erica’s other successes are modernizing and the organization’s vendor management program which implemented greater controls through the contracting phases including pre-onboarding to offboarding.

She led the company through a HIPAA breach audit and other security incidents with the potential of a $2m+ million penalty. Erica worked closely with outside counsel to develop a response strategy that ultimately resolved the audit with no penalties assessed against the company. During and after the audit, she worked to institute revised HIPAA compliance policies and procedures and implement a national compliance program with technology platforms to ease administration.

Erica supported OneDigital’s rapid growth which includes 25 or more acquisitions of other insurance and retirement brokerage firms annually, by meeting with prospectus targets to highlight compliance resources and OneDigital company culture.

Erica serves on several executive committees and is the Secretary for OneDigital’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belong Steering Council and Executive Sponsor for OneDigital’s Neurodiversity Network Employee Resource Group. In addition to her professional contributions to OneDigital, every summer, Erica volunteers her time and resources for the OneDigital Dash Road Race and raises money to support local charities.
