An accomplished general counsel with more than 20 years of financial services legal experience and proficiency in risk and governance matters, Annette Spencer is the general counsel of UBS in Australia. She is part of the bank’s Asia Pacific IB risk committee, Australasian country committee, and global legal management committee. Having received over 10 industry awards, Spencer runs a top notch legal team advising on derivatives, capital markets, international markets and structured products and includes governance, regulatory and employment matters in her repertoire.

She was responsible for leading the sale of UBS Wealth Management in Australia on legal matters in 2016 and continues to work on acquisitions, restructuring and management of UBS’s businesses in the region. Spencer is a graduate of the University of Technology Sydney, and often speaks at conferences there and at other institutions as a role model, and is a powerful female general counsel working in a major banking institution in Australia.
