Group executive – legal, governance and regulatory affairs and company secretary | Medibank Private
Mei Ramsay joined Medibank Private in 2011 as group general counsel, was appointed company secretary in 2014 and has since risen to group executive of the company’s legal, governance and regulatory affairs, a position she was appointed to in September 2016. She leads the legal function and provides governance and regulatory compliance advice to the board and senior management as well as covering all legal matters involved at Medibank Private.
Medibank is one of the largest private health insurers in Australia and has 3.7 million customers and offers a wide range of products including travel, pet and life insurance as well as health services, primary care, mental health and home care services. In the last year Medibank has completed the acquisition of Home Support Services, a major home care health provider and has greatly expanded the services that the business offers. Ramsay has more than 20 years of experience of in-house and private practice experience having been at Cummins, Coles Myer, Southcorp, Minter Ellison and Arnold Bloch Leibler.
