Having gained an intimate and extensive knowledge of legal and business issues that confront organisations in the construction and building products industry, Susan Leppinus is rightly regarded as one of the sector’s most preeminent in-house lawyers. Currently the general counsel and company secretary for Brickworks, a group of companies engaged in the design, development, manufacturing, marketing, distribution, and sale of a variety of building materials – she uses her significant experience in corporate and commercial law, corporate governance and board management practice in ASX 200 listed companies across diverse sectors. Owing to this large remit, Leppinus draws on experience gained during an 11 year spell at Crane Limited, where she began her in-house career and was central to a number of important business projects from the legal side.
