What has been the number one challenge that has impacted you over the past year?
The number one challenge has been supporting the operational and commercial business through recovery challenges as airport operations rebuild.
Looking forward, what technological advancements do you feel will impact the role of in-house legal teams in the future the most?
The world is continuing to move towards decarbonisation at speed, and the push towards net zero requires technological and regulatory change, which will impact the way in which a business invests its capital. Risk allocation between public and private sectors, regulators and supply chains will require sharp legal analysis to be just as innovative in assessing and allocating risk to the parties best equipped and most appropriate to manage it.
What would you say are the unique qualities required to be successful as an in-house lawyer in your industry?
One of the main qualities required concern understanding the industry risks and working cross functionally in-house as well as with external stakeholders and agencies to formulate workable solutions.
