Established in 1919 and operating primarily in the oil and gas sector, Australian international company Clough has projects in engineering, construction, operations and maintenance services. Headed by group general counsel and company secretary Christian Ainslie, the legal team based in Perth is recognised for its involvement in a number of company developments in recent years. Ainslie joined in Clough in 2010 and has since been joined by experienced legal counsels Sam Knowles and Nicholas Vickery. In 2015 the team assisted the company in its negotiation and execution of a number of contracts and transactions, including the acquisition of Canadian engineering company Enercore Projects in a deal valued at $10m CAD. This continued into 2016 with Clough being awarded a number of significant strategic contracts for liquified natural gas projects in the region. In 2017, the team helped secure another important contract this time with Norwegian chemical company Yara International for Clough AMEC, a 50/50 joint venture between Clough and Britain based firm Amec Foster Wheeler.
