Coca-Cola Amatil
Coca-Cola Amatil, one of the largest bottlers of ready-to-drink beverages in the Asia-Pacific region, has undergone a major reorganisation and rationalisation of its legal function following the resignation of its long-term general counsel in early 2016. As part of this, the well-known and highly regarded Betty Ivanoff took on the role of group general counsel and the individual with ultimate responsibility for organising the legal function. Ivanoff came to Coca-Cola Amatil after completing a seven-and-a-half year stint as group general counsel for global agribusiness company GrainCorp, and this senior international role in a related sector made her the ideal fit to take the helm of the Coca-Cola Amatil legal function in this new context. Richard Conway, the new general counsel for Australia, was promoted from senior legal counsel into his current role in May 2017. These in-house professionals highlight the range of skills available to the Coca-Cola Amatil legal team which make them a highly versatile and knowledgeable function; the mix of energy, experience and understanding of what makes the company tick is what will ensure it will successfully support the business many years into the future.
