Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?

At minimal expense, our team has recently implemented a recent innovation: The use of existing Microsoft applications to build workflows and generate legal documents. This project initially focused on one type of high-volume, low-risk document that consumed a significant portion of legal team time. Utilising existing Microsoft solutions is a low-to-zero additional cost, albeit with fantastic support from our internal IT colleagues. The workflow provides simple steps and questions which allow users to auto-generate the required document without legal team time. Of course, they can always contact us with questions, but automating this workflow has been a tremendous time saver at low cost and enables our valuable clients.

What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

In the last twelve months, our focus has been delicately balancing legal resources between external spending, enhancing legal processes, partnering with our clients to develop new products, a competitor’s recall, and strategically managing inflationary cost pressures resulting from Covid-19, the global electronics shortage, and our commitment to meet patient needs throughout the explosion of demand.

What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?

I am passionate about the accessibility and affordability of preventative healthcare.

This cause is essential because it can alleviate the strain on our healthcare system, reduce health disparities, and enhance the overall quality of life.

Accessible preventive healthcare services, like check-ups and screenings, are crucial to catching health issues early, minimising treatment costs, and easing the burden on the healthcare system. It is a matter of social justice to ensure equal healthcare access for all, regardless of socio-economic status.

By championing this cause, I aim to contribute to a more equitable healthcare system and a healthier, more productive society. It’s not just about physical health; it includes mental well-being, too, preventing mental health issues from escalating and promoting a more compassionate culture.
