Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?
A simple but effective way we have transformed the way we work with our business leads is by using live Smartsheets to continuously prioritise and re-prioritise workflow; and to submit new matters and allocate a primary legal contact. This has kept the focus of the legal team on business-critical tasks and ensured that key projects stay on timetable.
What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
Entry into a metering services agreement with Alinta Energy was a significant case for both myself and my team.
Project Edith: creation of a dynamic pricing tariff platform to encourage green energy customers to import or export electricity at times of low or high energy consumption, to improve network stability. Project Edith was awarded Energy Network Australia’s 2023 Industry Innovation Award.
My colleagues in the legal team successfully completed a ~$1.5bn USPP refinancing in June 2023.
What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?
I am a supporter of research into and healthcare for afflictions impacting the vulnerable, young members of our community. Over the years I have volunteered with the Sydney Children’s Hospital and been involved with fundraising for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
