First, can you please give us an idea of the sort of work your team has done recently?
One of our biggest successes in the past few months was winning Mobileye as a new customer. I oversaw the legal part of the contract negotiations. Another big success for me was the capital increase in 2022 where we raised €250m.
How does your legal strategy change during periods of instability or uncertainty?
During periods of instability or uncertainty, our legal strategy pivots to focus on risk mitigation, flexibility, and resilience. Firstly, we prioritise maintaining compliance with existing regulations while staying vigilant for any emerging legal developments that could impact our operations. This includes closely monitoring governmental policies, industry standards, and geopolitical shifts that may affect our business landscape.
Secondly, we adopt a proactive approach to identify and address potential legal challenges before they escalate. This involves conducting thorough risk assessments across all aspects of our operations, from supply chain management to intellectual property protection. By identifying vulnerabilities early on, we can implement targeted measures to mitigate risks and safeguard our interests.
Additionally, we emphasise the importance of clear and transparent communication with stakeholders, including employees, customers, and investors. Open dialogue helps to manage expectations and foster trust, particularly during times of uncertainty. Furthermore, we prioritise agility in our legal decision-making processes, allowing us to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and navigate unforeseen challenges effectively.
Overall, our legal strategy during periods of instability or uncertainty is centred on resilience, adaptability, and proactive risk management to safeguard our company’s interests and ensure continued success in the dynamic automotive industry landscape.
Do you make use of any ‘legal tech’ products, and if so, for which areas of your job do you find it most useful?
We only use DocuSign, which provides numerous advantages for my department and the company. Its electronic signature capabilities streamline document execution, saving time and resources.
