First, can you please give us an idea of the sort of work your team has done recently?   

In the past year, our legal team has been focused on in-depth negotiations of Master Service Agreements for our IXOPAY Payment Orchestration Platform to help clients scale their management of payments globally. These agreements, extending our footprint to many global top 100 companies, include collaborations with leading players in the logistics, retail, finance and luxury sectors.  

Key software development-driven projects included the integration of Visa and Mastercard Network tokenization into the IXOPAY Platform, as recently announced. This aligns with our commitment to keep up with technological advancements in the payments industry.  

How does your legal strategy change during periods of instability or uncertainty?  

In times of uncertainty, our legal strategy focuses on stability through multi-year fixed terms in our enterprise contracts, enhancing resilience. As a technical service provider in the payments industry, our pricing model ensures independence from fluctuations in transaction values as it is based on fixed per-transaction costs. This strategic choice strengthens our resilience to sector-specific downturns, allowing us to navigate uncertainties with confidence while maintaining the integrity of our legal framework.  

Do you make use of any ‘legal tech’ products, and if so, for which areas of your job do you find it most useful? 

We use legal tech products thoughtfully, with a primary focus on data protection and confidentiality. We strategically leverage AI to refine sensitive clauses, ensuring precision while keeping legal research a strictly human matter. This extends to using AI for enhancing communication styles in both external correspondence and internal guidelines, fostering clarity and effectiveness.  

Additionally, although untraditional legal tech, our longstanding use of Trello, Slack, Google and Jira Ticketing System has proven invaluable. Combined, these platforms serve as a centralised hub, optimising workflow, facilitating seamless project management, and ensuring effective communication throughout all departments.
