Dr. Jonas Hermann is an experienced general legal counsel known for his expertise in leading teams, managing risks, advising on complex projects, and implementing robust governance structures. With an entrepreneurial mindset, he combines strong judgment with exceptional communication skills to drive organizational success.  

Dr. Hermann began his career as a managing associate in M&A and corporate at Linklaters in Frankfurt, Germany, where he led significant M&A transactions and provided corporate legal advice to high-profile clients, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment. He then transitioned to the role of senior legal counsel EMEA at DAX 40 BASF in Ludwigshafen, Germany, where he advised on legal matters across the EMEA region, managed legal risks, and provided strategic guidance on corporate projects.   

Following this, he served as head of legal and compliance and compliance officer for central Europe at BASF in Vienna, Austria. In this role, he directed the legal and compliance functions for central Europe, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and fostering a culture of compliance within the organisation. He then advanced to become the general counsel and compliance officer EMEA at BASF environmental catalyst and metal solutions, splitting his time between Vienna, Austria, and Hannover, Germany. Here, he oversaw legal and compliance operations for EMEA, leading initiatives to mitigate risks and support business growth within the environmental catalyst and metal solutions sectors. 

Currently, Dr. Hermann is the head of group legal at ALDI SÜD HOLDING in Salzburg, Austria. In this role, he manages the legal affairs of the group, provides strategic legal advice, and implements governance structures to support the organization’s operations and growth. Dr. Hermann’s diverse background in legal counsel and compliance across various industries and regions has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the legal landscape and a strategic approach to legal and compliance challenges.
