First, can you please give us an idea of the sort of work your team has done recently? 

During the last few months, we have very much focused on the further development of our digital offerings (digital service agreements), including the re-drafting of existing and creation of new contract templates. In addition, we have continuously worked on the protection of our trademarks, leading to various actions for injunction and related IP-cases. 

How does your legal strategy change during periods of instability or uncertainty? 

The current times require businesses to adapt to new circumstances at a very fast pace and effectively. Our legal strategy incorporates this need and intends to be forward-looking, while new contract models are designed to provide flexibility to the business. At the same time, a regular revision of the legal strategy is required – the times for “1-year plans” are long over! 

Do you make use of any ‘legal tech’ products, and if so, for which areas of your job do you find it most useful? 

Yes, so far, we are using legal tech IT-solutions for billing as well as internal approval (board management) processes as well as contract-drafting. They reduce our workload on administrative tasks, allowing us to “be productive, not busy” and thus spend more time on legal work that require our in-depth attention.
