Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?
In order to benefit from the constant developments of new IT tools and applications we have moved from an internal IT solution for Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) to a cloud based CLM solution. This way, we are in a position to make use of a number of value propositions linked to cloud based CLM solutions (library of contract clause, AI technologies to highlight potential contract risks and opportunities).
Apart from legal matters, has the team worked on other company initiatives?
To further strengthen our compliance and risk management processes a number of internal policies have been newly issued and existing policies have been substantially updated to address evolving risk landscape (sanctions, cyber risk, data protection, whistleblower, supply chain due diligence). In parallel, the use of e-learning courses and webinars have been enhanced for training of employees across all business units.
Can you sum up the team culture/ethos in one sentence?
Over the past few years, the legal department has initiated the transformation process to move from the position of legal advisor to becoming a strategic business partner. With that role change the legal department sets the focus on offering legal expertise in a fast-evolving legal environment, supporting revenue growth and engaging in advocacy with regulatory entities.
