Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?

We constantly try to improve and further develop our use of existing software and collaboration tools available to us, such as Microsoft Teams or sanctions screening tools. These tools often offer helpful –but easily overlooked – features that can make the collaboration within the team more efficient and effective. By this and regularly reviewing our processes and their outcomes, we refine and optimise them, thus, improving our efficiency and creating better output.

Apart from legal matters, has the team worked on other company initiatives?

Next to legal matters, a key focus of the team is compliance. Due to the Russia – Ukraine war, and the fact that some of our major customers are Russian-owned oil and gas companies, we had to provide a lot of guidance on sanctions in the last year.

Can you sum up the team culture/ethos in one sentence? 

Our culture or ethos can be best summarised as ‘We succeed as a team, or we fail as a team; either way, we do it together’.

As we are a small team and have to cover legal and compliance for all our European operations, only as a team can we manage the workload efficiently and effectively.
